Position Summary
The Vice President of Marketing at Charleys is a strategic and hands-on leadership role focused on building brand equity, driving guest traffic, and supporting continued expansion. This role leads all marketing functions — from brand development and digital campaigns to menu innovation and franchisee communications — ensuring that every initiative strengthens customer connection and drives results.

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Marketing partners across the business to align marketing with operations, culinary, analytics, and executive strategy. This position is ideal for a bold, data-driven leader who thrives in a fast-growing, franchise-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute marketing strategies that effectively position the brand, grow brand awareness, increase traffic and loyalty, and drive sales.
  • Lead all marketing functions including brand, digital, creative, field marketing, menu strategy, PR, and franchisee communications.
  • Strengthen storytelling across all channels — social, paid, in-store, and experiential — to elevate brand presence and customer engagement.
  • Oversee menu development efforts: lead product tests, national launches, menu pricing, and board optimization in collaboration with Culinary and Operations.
  • Use data and analytics to evaluate marketing effectiveness and product performance, then translate insights into action.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints, ensuring campaigns align with voice, quality, and values.
  • Manage marketing budgets and allocate spend based on impact and ROI.
  • Provide tools and resources to franchisees to support local marketing success.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across operations, legal, IT, and HR to ensure marketing supports business priorities.
  • Stay current on restaurant and consumer trends, bringing fresh thinking and innovation to the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles, ideally in QSR, fast casual, or restaurant franchises.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA a plus).
  • Deep understanding of the franchise business model and the role of marketing in supporting both brand and operators.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, campaign strategy, menu promotion, and local market execution.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and guiding a high-performing marketing team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a comfort level presenting to executives and supporting field operations.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset and ability to balance creativity with performance metrics.
